Deep Roots in our Community
New Heights has a long history that began over 100 years ago when St. Johns (Mazomanie, WI.) and Our Saviours (Black Earth,WI.) Lutheran churches were formed. Generations of faithfulness, joy and challenges led to these two churches joining together to form New Heights Lutheran Church in 2009. Since then, the focus has been on renewal and revitalization as we continue to carry out God’s mission for us. With a strong sense of God’s vision and mission we have grown into a healthy and vital faith community, reaching and connecting people of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds.
Who we are becoming as God’s people.
A Cross Generational Faith Family. We believe that a healthy and vibrant faith community includes and connects people of all ages. New Heights seeks to be a community centered on Jesus, where each generation takes an active role in teaching and sharing the faith across generational lines. Together we are the body of Christ and the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. It takes all of us actively participating to make this vision a reality.
Why we exist and what we are called to do.
Jesus said it was pretty simple, and we think so too:
Love God, Love Neighbor, Grow Disciples
Loving God and all people and desiring to grow as Disciples of Christ, we value…
Our core values define how we reflect Christ in our lives; this is how we connect our faith in Christ with our daily lives. You'll find them here.

God has great plans for this faith community! We look forward to the construction of our new building, an important tool for ministry. It will be a central gathering place for the wider community where lives can be touched and transformed.

Our core values define how we reflect Christ in our lives; this is how we connect our faith in Christ with our daily lives.
We are deeply committed to the message of the Bible that God has acted on our behalf in Jesus Christ and that by trusting in Jesus we can experience a life-transforming relationship with God and receive the gift of eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
It is in our relationship with God that we experience God’s unconditional love, discover who God has created us to be and find purpose in our lives. We seek to know Christ better, to love God more deeply and to let our lives be led by the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 22:37 All love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
We believe spirit led worship, preaching and teaching which engage the heart, mind and spirit are central to our relationship with God and the life of the church. Therefore, we are committed to providing worship experiences that honor God and draw people into a closer relationship with God.
John 3:16-17 God is Spirit and his worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth.
Prayer is a conversation with God which brings us into God’s presence and connects us with God’s mercy, guidance, and power. Prayer is a central component of our relationship with God and our life together as a community of believers; as such, prayer lays the foundation for all we do.
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
We believe that because of God’s eternal and essential love for us, we are moved to share the same love with others.
Matthew 22:39 You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
As followers of Christ, we humbly express God’s love by using our time, talents and resources in ministry, meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of others, both inside and outside the church.
Philippians 2:3-5 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you shall look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.
We believe that through using our spiritual gifts, we learn to function as a unified community for the purpose of supporting one another in the faith and working together to fulfill God’s mission to save all people.
1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the Body of Christ, and each of you is a part of it.
Romans 15:5-6 May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are passionately committed to sharing the love of Christ in relevant and engaging ways with those not yet connected to Christ or the Church. We are continually thinking of those who are not here yet so that they may find our community welcoming and inviting.
Matthew 28:19-20 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
As a faith community we seek to share and receive God’s Word and sacraments as a sign of God’s promise through Christ for all people. In these gifts and by the power of the Spirit, we experience the love of God and grow in grace.
John 1:14,16 And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as a father’s only son, full of grace and truth. From his fullness we have all received grace upon grace.
We believe that all Disciples of Christ are called to be in a continual process of transformation and growth. As a faith community we are committed to training, equipping and empowering all people to grow in their faith and live out a Christ-centered life.
Ephesians 4:11-13 It was God who gave….some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
It is in our children that we see the goodness and beauty of God. God has given us the responsibility of cherishing this precious gift and sharing with our children the love God has for them. We are committed to raising our children in the faith and inspiring them to live Christ-centered lives.
Deuteronomy 6:5-7,9 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Matthew 19:14 Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.
